XBox One S All Digital

Let's just spill the tea straight away shall we? Microsoft and Sony don't want you to swap or trade games as they make no money from these transactions, it costs money to manufacture and distribute the games as well, something to consider when you think about them pushing digital versions of games. So when the XBox One S All Digital was announced it came as no surprise to the Gamer Wager office. For those that don't know, the XBox One S All Digital is an XBox One S but without the disc drive.... same spec, same footprint but without the ability to borrow a game from your friends or buy a trade in version. Game devs want their games to be played universally, they want people to talk about how good their games are, gamers want to play a title and then have the ability to take it to a store and trade it in for a discount off of their next title, this is the circle of gaming. This all digital approach kind of takes that element away a little bit, you may be a bit more reluctant to buy a game if you know you'll be stuck with it if you don't like it. Maybe a 24 hour try before you buy will need to be introduced? Though some games could be blitzed in that time. Another factor to consider is the internal memory of the machine, Microsoft have said that everything is cloud based and you can take your game library anywhere you want, has Microsoft taken this cloud based library to some of the parts of the UK that barely get 2mb speeds online? We know this is the future of gaming but we don't think we're actually ready for it to be a reality, a bit like Alexa rising up and taking over the world like in the Terminator films, yeah it's a possibility but fucking hell Alexa, why? What did we do to deserve this?!
