What we on about this week? 29/03/19

Here's this weeks run down of the things that have been discussed in the Gamer Wager office this week, all views are our own.....

STADIA

First up the Stadia announcement, we are still a little bit disappointed that Google didn't run with the Yeti name, yes we know that this was just a code name, but personally "I'm going to play on my Yeti" sounds loads better than "I'm off to Stadia" or however they want us to say it. We think the concept is great and if it has the right developers behind the games then we all might be jumping into Stadia (or however they want us to say it). Apple followed suit with a knee jerk announcement of their subscription based platform this week as well but it didn't quite have the same feel as the Google announcement, will you be getting ready to Stadia and chill (or however they want us to say it) let us know on social media.

Mortal Kombat 11

What else needs to be said than Mortal Kombat 11, it's Mortal Kombat 11!!! The king of spine ripping fighters is back and by the looks of it NetherRealm have got the whole band back together for another show stopping world tour (yes we have also been watching The Dirt on Netflix). The office has been buzzing with excitement for the beta that pre-order groupies can access (there will be a review of it next week). The franchise has come a long way from its Mega Drive/SNES debut and no doubt will be one of the biggest selling games of the year. You know this is going to be amazing as well so don't even think about trying to act like you're too cool for MK11. This is one game that will definitely feature on the Gamer Wager platform further down the line.

Apex Legends Season One

Lets get one thing clear, Apex Legends is the battle royale champion right now, Fortnite has taken a back seat while we slide, grapple and revive our way to glory. Season one finally launched and we had mixed feelings about it, yes the new character Octane is good, but, when you have been spending a month gaining 600 kills with Bangalore only to have a big fat 0 against your new character it can hurt a bit. Also, you see when Fortnite launched Season 7, we got Peely, who doesn't love Peely? The cheeky little yellow bellend. Watching him run around with a Scar in hand is a joyous experience..... and that's the point here, you get to watch him, running around.... you could have any character in Apex and aside from a few quips and special moves it really isn't that obvious.... JUST SHOW US THE DAMN CHARACTERS RESPAWN!!! Another thing to consider is this, the whole battle pass for Season one will cost roughly £80 which is quite a lot for a few skins and doesn't include a new character.
